Sheikh Dr. Salem Bin Rukad Al Ameri and Emirates Scholar Center Explore Partnership to Strengthen Scientific Research and Healthcare Ecosystem in the UAE

Sheikh Dr. Salem Bin Rukad Al Ameri, Chairman of the Board of the Emirates Cancer Society, received a delegation from Emirates Scholar Center for Research & Studies, led by Dr. Fawaz Habbal, Director General of the Center and Board of Trustees Member, to discuss prospects for cooperation in scientific research, healthcare, and community awareness.

The meeting was held within the framework of strengthening national partnerships between scientific and academic institutions and exploring opportunities for joint initiatives that support the healthcare sector, promote preventive health awareness, and advance scientific knowledge in oncology and public health. These efforts align with the UAE’s vision of fostering innovation, scientific research, and sustainable development.

Both parties reviewed several proposals for collaboration, including scientific publishing, the organization of scientific forums, the implementation of applied research and studies, the launch of joint initiatives, and the development of programs aimed at enhancing public health awareness and improving quality of life.

The meeting also included a formal invitation for the Emirates Cancer Society to participate as a partner in the 3rd European Arab Medical Congress, hosted by Emirates Scholar Center for Research & Studies in collaboration with the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination. The two sides discussed potential areas of cooperation, in addition to reviewing a number of initiatives and programs that could be developed during the next phase to strengthen knowledge exchange and institutional collaboration.

Sheikh Dr. Salem Bin Rukad Al Ameri emphasized that advancing the healthcare sector requires close collaboration between healthcare and research institutions. He noted that scientific knowledge achieves its greatest impact when translated into practical initiatives that raise community awareness, strengthen prevention, and improve quality of life, in line with the UAE’s vision of building a sustainable, knowledge-driven, and innovation-based healthcare system.

For his part, Dr. Fawaz Habbal stated that rigorous scientific research is the cornerstone of evidence-based policymaking. He stressed that the growing spread of misinformation reinforces the importance of research institutions in producing reliable knowledge and transforming it into insights that support decision-makers and contribute to societal development, fostering a more informed and sustainable future.

The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming the importance of maintaining close coordination and developing a sustainable partnership framework that supports innovation and scientific research while further strengthening the UAE’s position as a regional and global hub for knowledge and excellence in the healthcare sector.
