American University of Sharjah (AUS) was founded in 1997 by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Sharjah. Sheikh Sultan articulated his vision of a distinctive institution against the backdrop of Islamic history and in the context of the aspirations and needs of contemporary society in the UAE and the Gulf region.

We offer 32 majors and 46 minors at the undergraduate level, 17 master’s degree programs and five PhD programs through the following academic units:

Emirates Scholar Center for Research & Studies was established in 2019 as the first specialized scientific platform to ensure the implementation of the leadership’s directives in UAE, to achieve the UAE Vision 2071, and in line with the national guide to measure government spending on research and development, to rely on scientific research and development to build a diversified knowledge economy led by skilled Emirati competencies and to manage, publish and index research, studies, conferences and scientific awards in the Middle East, and to stimulate the climate of creativity and spread the culture of scientific research in the scientific and professional fields.

In addition to arbitration, indexing and publishing refereed research on the rules of scientific indexing, and raising the country’s name globally in the production of knowledge, in a way that guarantees long-term prosperity to achieve comprehensive development that enhances the country’s position as a pioneering model in the research sector and advanced industries.

ESCRS was established to take responsibility for research development in the United Arab Emirates and the Arab region. As stated in its founding agreement, our mission is to contribute to the development of scientific research in the United Arab Emirates.

We monitor current and potential trends, unconventional ideas, and impending phenomena that contribute to shaping the future and to analyze and evaluate scientific contribution and present perceived alternatives for dealing with trends using advanced methodologies and scholarly activities that engage academics, researchers, and public figures from the UAE and abroad.
