Emirates Scholar Delegation Hosted by Badr University in Cairo.

On the sidelines of the memorandum of understanding signed between the Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies subsidiary of Emirates Science and Research Foundation, and Badr University in Cairo, headed by H.E. Dr. Ashraf El Shehhi, Former Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, during the Sharjah International Conference on AI & Linguistics last October, the university welcomed a delegation from the Emirates Scholar Center. The delegation included Dr. Firas Habbal, President of Emirates Scholar and Vice-Chancellor of the Board of Trustees, and Dr. Fawaz Habbal, Director General and Board Member, along with their accompanying delegation.
The visit aimed to activate and enhance the memorandum of understanding and explore avenues of cooperation between the Center and the university. The meeting began with H.E. Dr. Ashraf El Shehhi presented an overview of the university’s history, faculties, and specializations, as well as introducing the faculty members. For his part, Dr. Firas Habbal gave a presentation about the Emirates Scholar Center’s history, its Board of Trustees, and its projects and contributions. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of joint cooperation, stating: “This partnership is not merely a collaboration between two institutions but a step toward building a scientific community that places youth at the forefront of research and innovation in the Arab world“.


Dr. El Shehhi also expressed his appreciation during the meeting, saying: “We look forward to a sustainable partnership with the Emirates Scholar Center that will result in joint research initiatives serving society and empowering youth to become leaders in their respective fields”.
As part of the visit, the Emirates Scholar delegation toured the university’s various faculties, where they explored academic facilities and the advanced technologies used in education. They also engaged with a number of students, discussing innovative ideas for scientific and research projects across multiple disciplines.

Both sides discussed several future projects to be implemented in partnership between the Emirates Scholar and Badr University. The discussions highlighted the importance of empowering youth in scientific research and equipping students to keep pace with rapid developments across various fields. It was agreed to form a joint working team to oversee the planned research projects.
The meeting underscored the significance of this collaboration in uniting efforts to support scientific and research development. It also shed light on the potential for joint efforts to open new horizons for innovation and strengthen the roles of researchers and academics, contributing to a shared vision of advancing scientific research, particularly in Egypt and across the Arab world.
