Sheikh Dr. Ammar Al-Mualla reviews ESCRS 2026 plan and commends its efforts in advancing scientific research in the UAE

Sheikh Dr. Ammar bin Nasser Al Mulla, Board of Trustees Member of the Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies (ESCRS), emphasized the vital role of scientific research in the UAE in driving innovation and national progress. He praised the Center’s pioneering efforts in advancing the country’s research ecosystem and developing Emirati capabilities in scientific research and artificial intelligence, highlighting how Emirates Scholar scientific research continues to strengthen the UAE’s position as a leading regional hub for science and knowledge.
This came during his meeting with Dr. Firas Habbal, President of the Center and Vice Chancellor of the Board of Trustees, and Dr. Fawaz Habbal, Director-General of the Center and Board of Trustees Member.
During the meeting, Sheikh Dr. Ammar reviewed the training roadmap of Emirates Scholar and was briefed on the Center’s 2026 strategic plan, which includes a range of joint research projects and international scientific conferences.
The discussion also touched upon the details of the “Million Scholar Journey” initiative, part of the Center’s vision to build a sustainable knowledge-based society. The initiative aims to prepare a new generation of scientifically and technically qualified Emirati researchers capable of leading the nation’s journey in research and innovation, in alignment with the UAE’s vision for a knowledge-driven economy.
Sheikh Dr. Ammar Al Mulla emphasized that Emirates Scholar represents a national model embodying the leadership’s vision of making science and research a key driver of comprehensive development. He commended the Center’s efforts in fostering academic collaboration with Arab and international institutions and in empowering youth to transform their research ideas into real-world, impactful projects.
For their part, Dr. Firas Habbal and Dr. Fawaz Habbal expressed their appreciation for Sheikh Dr. Ammar Al Mulla’s continued support of scientific and research initiatives. They noted that the Center is working to build an integrated research ecosystem that enhances the UAE’s global scientific presence and supports its initiatives in foresight, innovation, and sustainable development, consolidating the country’s position as a beacon of science and innovation in the Arab world.
