H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has issued two Federal Decrees appointing H.E. Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed as Chairman of the National Media Authority, and H.E. Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi as Vice Chairman of the National Media Authority. in a step that reflects the wise leadership’s commitment to strengthening the national media ecosystem and consolidating its strategic role in supporting the country’s comprehensive development journey.

H.E. Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed brings with him a distinguished record of leadership experience, having previously served as Chairman of the Board of the UAE Media Council and as Chairman of the National Media Office. In addition to holding several senior leadership positions across vital sectors. These roles have endowed him with extensive expertise in institutional governance, public policy formulation, and the management of strategic portfolios.

H.E. Mohammed Saeed Rashid Al Shahi brings extensive experience in the fields of media, government communication, and institutional work. He has held several key leadership roles, most notably serving as Secretary-General of the UAE Media Council, where he contributed to enhancing the efficiency of media performance and to developing policies and initiatives that support the national media sector.

These appointments are expected to drive efforts to further develop the regulatory and legislative framework of the media sector, strengthen integration among media institutions, and support national content that reflects the values and future vision of the UAE, while reinforcing the country’s position as an influential media platform at both regional and international levels.
