Emirates Scholar at the National Festival of Tolerance 2025

Emirates Scholar Participates in the 7th Edition of the National Festival of Tolerance

Abu Dhabi, 14 November 2025

Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies is participating in the 7th edition of the National Festival of Tolerance, organized by the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, from 14 to 16 November 2025, under the theme “Hand in Hand.” The festival embodies the values of cooperation, participation, and collective responsibility championed by the wise leadership of the United Arab Emirates.

This participation reflects the center’s ongoing commitment to advancing field-based scientific research and aligning it with societal realities. During the festival, the Emirates Scholar research team will conduct a series of interviews and surveys targeting families, visitors, and the general public. The objective is to monitor and analyze key indicators of tolerance and coexistence within Emirati society and assess how deeply these values are embedded in the daily lives of individuals and families.

This initiative aims to produce a specialized qualitative study that offers a scientifically grounded and data-driven perspective on the realities of social and familial coexistence in the UAE. The findings will serve as a valuable knowledge resource to support decision-makers and enhance national efforts to promote a culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

In this context, the center emphasized that its participation aligns with its broader research mission, particularly as reflected in its flagship academic publications:

  • The International Journal of Civilizations Studies & Tolerance Sciences, which documents and analyzes historical and contemporary models of human coexistence across civilizations.
  • The Emirati Journal of Community & Family Studies, which explores social transformations and evolving family values in the UAE.

This comes in line with national directives declaring 2025 as the “Year of Community” and 2026 as the “Year of the Family”. The center views these themes as essential frameworks for guiding its research priorities and community engagement.

Emirates Scholar further stressed that this integration between national festivals and academic publications reflects its vision of transforming public events into active research and societal platforms, bridging theoretical knowledge with real-world insights, and highlighting the critical role of scientific inquiry in promoting unity, tolerance, and national cohesion.

The center also noted that the festival represents a unique opportunity to involve the public in the research process and highlight the role of the Emirati family as a key driver in disseminating the values of openness and tolerance. The data gathered through the surveys will directly contribute to the content and scientific value of the center’s journals, enriching academic discourse on identity, coexistence, and family dynamics. Ultimately, this work supports the development of a new generation of researchers and intellectuals dedicated to serving Emirati society through knowledge and science and to contributing to the national vision of a tolerant, cohesive and sustainable society.
