The Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence honored Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies in recognition of its research efforts and active participation in the 7th edition of the National Festival of Tolerance and Coexistence. The festival was organized by the Ministry under the patronage of H.E Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and was held from November 14 to 16, 2025, under the slogan “Hand in Hand”. international Journal of Civilizations Studies & Tolerance Sciences

The honoring took place during a meeting in which H.E. Afraa Al Sabri, Director-General of the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, welcomed Dr. Firas Habbal, President & Vice Chancellor of Emirates Scholar, and Dr. Fawaz Habbal, Director-General of the Center and Board of Trustees Member. The Ministry commended the Center’s scientific and societal role during the festival’s activities.

This recognition came in appreciation of the Center’s contribution to implementing a series of field interviews and surveys targeting families, visitors, and the general public. These efforts aimed to monitor and analyze indicators of tolerance and coexistence within Emirati society, and to measure the extent to which these values are embedded in daily life, thereby enhancing societal understanding and supporting relevant national policies.

Dr. Firas Habbal expressed his pride in this recognition, stating: “The Center’s participation in the National Festival of Tolerance and Coexistence reflects its commitment to transforming national events into applied research opportunities that support decision-makers and strengthen the values of tolerance”. For his part, Dr. Fawaz Habbal emphasized: “This recognition reflects the confidence placed in the Center’s scientific role, and the fieldwork conducted during the festival represents a model for integrating scientific research with societal reality and supporting national policies”.

The participation of Emirates Scholar Center comes as part of its ongoing efforts to link scientific research with societal realities. The Center noted that these efforts fall within its pursuit of preparing a specialized qualitative study based on reliable quantitative and qualitative field data, integrated with its scientific publications, most notably International Journal of Civilizations Studies & Tolerance Sciences and Emirati Journal of Society and Family Studies. These journals focus on documenting models of human coexistence and studying social transformations and family values in the UAE, particularly in light of the wise leadership’s directives designating 2025 as the Year of Community, in preparation for 2026, titled the “Year of the Family”.

This recognition underscores the importance of institutional partnership between the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence and Emirates Scholar Center. It also embodies the Center’s vision of transforming national events into effective research and community platforms, enhancing interaction between theoretical knowledge and field application, and highlighting the pivotal role of scientific research in supporting national initiatives and reinforcing the UAE’s position as a leading global model of tolerance and human coexistence.
