Sharjah Asset Management and Emirates Scholar strengthen research partnerships.
Sharjah Asset Management Company, the investment arm of the Government of Sharjah, held a coordination meeting with the Emirates Scholar Center for Research & Studies to strengthen institutional cooperation in the fields of scientific research and applied studies, and to explore future partnership prospects that support the emirate’s vision for developing a knowledge-based economy and its practical applications in sustainable economic development.
The meeting was chaired by Omar Al Mulla, Chief Executive Officer for Investment at Sharjah Asset Management, in the presence of Khalid Al Kindi, General Manager of Sharjah Taxi, and a delegation from Emirates Scholar represented by Dr. Fawaz Habbal, Director-General, Dr. Youssef Al Ali, and Mr. Ali Makki, Board of Trustees Members. Also in attendance were a number of officials and experts from Sharjah Asset Management’s investment and research sectors.
During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to activate applied research partnerships in the fields of economy and sustainable investment and to enhance knowledge transfer between academic and economic institutions, in alignment with Sharjah’s vision to build an integrated development model based on science and innovation. The discussions also covered potential joint initiatives aimed at supporting investment decision-making, improving the business environment, and anticipating future opportunities.
Omar Al Mulla emphasized that research partnerships are a core pillar in advancing the investment ecosystem in the emirate, noting that collaboration with Emirates Scholar aligns with Sharjah Asset Management’s strategy of building partnerships based on research and innovation to support investment decision-making and enhance the efficiency of development projects. He added that research-driven innovation is key to achieving competitive excellence and strengthening Sharjah’s position as a leading hub for sustainable investment in the region.
For his part, Dr. Fawaz Habbal highlighted the importance of scientific research as a strategic tool to support decision-makers in the economic sector and advance the knowledge economy in the UAE, noting that it contributes to providing scientific and practical solutions that foster investment and sustainable development in Sharjah.
Dr. Youssef Al Ali added that investing in scientific research and modern technologies is a main driver of growth, calling for the expansion of applied partnerships between academic and investment institutions to enhance innovation and promote knowledge-based decision-making.
The meeting concluded with an agreement between both parties to continue coordination and implement pioneering initiatives in the upcoming phase, within a framework of mutual cooperation aimed at strengthening the integration between knowledge and investment.
