Emirates Scholar and Society of Scholars Sign Strategic Partnership to Strengthen the National Research Ecosystem

In a significant step reflecting the shared commitment of both institutions to advancing scientific research and enriching the knowledge landscape in the UAE, Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies and Society of Scholars in the United Arab Emirates have signed a strategic partnership agreement aimed at establishing a comprehensive framework to enhance research capabilities and promote scientific awareness among researchers across the country.
The partnership crowns a series of coordination meetings and academic discussions held in recent months, during which both sides worked toward unifying efforts and developing impactful programs that contribute to a sustainable and globally competitive research environment.
Emirates Scholar was represented by Dr. Fawaz Habbal, Director-General of Emirates Scholar and Board of Trustees Member, while Society of Scholars was represented by Dr. Waddah Al Hashmi, Chairman of the Board.
The agreement outlines a set of joint initiatives designed to elevate research practices and support their development. The two organizations will collaborate to deliver specialized training programs and targeted workshops aimed at empowering Emirati researchers with advanced methodological and analytical skills. The agreement also seeks to enhance opportunities for scientific publishing through strengthened engagement with reputable international research platforms and journals.
Dr. Fawaz Habbal, Director-General of Emirates Scholar and Board of Trustees Member, stated:
“This agreement marks an important step in supporting scientific research by providing training opportunities, resources, and platforms that enable researchers to develop projects that benefit society. It reflects our mutual commitment to research integration and the effective utilization of expertise to address priority scientific issues and advance knowledge development”.
The MoU also includes the development of joint research projects that contribute to empowering national talent and expanding the intellectual footprint of research within the region. It further supports innovative initiatives that bridge scientific research with practical applications, strengthening knowledge-based policymaking.
From his side, Dr. Waddah Al Hashmi, Chairman of the Society of Scholars, commented:

We view this partnership with Emirates Scholar as an opportunity to develop high-value projects and expand the tools and support available to Emirati researchers”.
The signing ceremony concluded with both parties affirming the formation of a joint working team to oversee the implementation of upcoming programs and initiatives, ensuring that the agreement’s objectives translate into meaningful contributions to the national research community and strengthen the presence of Emirati researchers on international platforms.
