Abstract

It Is A Well-Known That 4D BIM Involves The Integration Of The 3D Model And The Project Schedule, Which Helps In Construction, Planning, Constructability Analysis And Communication With The Stakeholders. While Creating The 4D Model, Tasks And Elements Are Linked Manually Which Is A Time-Consuming And Repetitive Process. Some Researchers In The Past Had Linked Tasks And Elements Automatically. In The Past Works, The Process Of Assigning The Identifiers To Tasks And Elements Was Still Manual. Therefore, The Objective Of This Study Is To Develop A Methodology For Generating A 4D BIM Model In Which The Model And The Schedule Is Automatically Linked. For This Purpose, A Database Of Identifiers Each For The Model And The Schedule Is Created. In This Paper, Autodesk Revit And Navisworks Were Used For Developing The 3-Dimesional Model And The 4-Dimensional Simulation Respectively. The Proposed Methodology Leverages The Information Stored In BIM Objects To Generate Task IDs As Well As Tasks List For Schedules. The Concurrent Task IDs Generated In Database Are Added In The 3D Model Using ODBC Driver. The 4D Scheduling Automation Methodology Was Applied On A Hypothetical Model Example And Results Were Found To Be Satisfactory.
