Abstract
In an increasingly multicultural world, the traditional, Western-centric models of trauma diagnosis and intervention often fall short. This presentation explores the latest advancements in trauma treatment, highlighting the critical need for culturally oriented approaches ( Co-BEP, Co-EMDR). We will examine how a patient’s cultural background, belief system, and social context fundamentally influence the expression and processing of trauma, as well as their response to treatment. This talk provides a comprehensive overview of recent updates in the diagnosis and evidence-based interventions for PTSD and trauma-related disorders. More importantly, it shifts the focus to practical strategies for integrating cultural sensitivity into clinical practice. By moving beyond the standard, we can foster a more inclusive and effective form of care that respects and adapts to the diverse experiences of individuals, ultimately leading to better outcomes for a wider range of patients.
