Emirates Scholar and Emirates Medical Association Sign MoU to Strengthen Research and Academic Collaboration

During the official ceremony of the 2nd European Arab Medical Congress held in Abu Dhabi, Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies and Emirates Medical Association (EMA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing research and academic cooperation, exchanging expertise across medical, health, and scientific fields.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Firas Habbal, President of the Emirates Scholar and Vice Chancellor of the Board of Trustees, and Sheikha Dr. Noura Al Qasimi, President of Emirates Medical Association, in the presence of members of the Board of Trustees and several members of the Association.
The agreement outlines cooperation in joint research projects, expert exchange, academic publications, scientific events, and workshops, as well as the development of research policies and expansion of research networks at both local and international levels. It also supports initiatives that serve the healthcare and academic sectors while contributing to social development.
The MoU includes provisions for appointing coordinators from each party to oversee implementation, ensure intellectual property protection, maintain data confidentiality, and establish clear mechanisms for resolving challenges that may arise during execution—ensuring sustainable collaboration and mutual benefit.
Sheikha Dr. Noura Al Qasimi expressed her appreciation for this strategic partnership, noting that it reflects the UAE leadership’s vision in empowering national institutions to advance their scientific and research missions. She emphasized that the agreement represents a model of institutional synergy in serving the healthcare and academic sectors, opening new avenues for applied research, national talent development, and international collaboration in modern medical sciences.
Dr. Firas Habbal affirmed that the MoU marks a strategic milestone in the center’s efforts to expand national research partnerships, adding that the coming phase will witness joint initiatives focused on innovation in public health and medical technology.
This collaboration aligns with the UAE’s national vision to promote international research partnerships, foster medical and technological innovation, and translate knowledge into community service and sustainable development—contributing to building a leading scientific ecosystem for future generations.
