Emirates Scholar Center and Parkin Discuss Smart Transportation Development Opportunities in Dubai.
Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies conducted an official visit to Parkin Company in Dubai as part of exploring avenues for joint cooperation in scientific research and applied studies related to smart transportation, traffic management, and the development of technology systems supporting sustainability.
The center’s delegation included Dr. Firas Habbal, President & Vice Chancellor of Emirates Scholar, and Dr. Yousef Al Ali, Board of Trustees Member at Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies, along with several researchers and experts. They were welcomed by Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Parkin, was accompanied by several executive directors and department managers.
The meeting discussed prospects for establishing a long-term strategic partnership to develop joint research programs based on traffic data analysis, assessing the impact of tariff systems on traffic flow, and their role in supporting sustainability, reducing congestion, and lowering carbon emissions. It also addressed specialized training programs aimed at building the capabilities of researchers and professionals in smart transportation, digital governance, and evidence-based decision-making, enhancing operational policy efficiency and improving the user experience in modern transportation systems.
In this context, Dr. Firas Habbal stated:
“Cooperation with Parkin enables researchers to direct their studies toward developing smart traffic systems capable of improving traffic flow, reducing congestion, and lowering carbon emissions, contributing to more sustainable and efficient urban mobility, and translating research outcomes into practical solutions that serve the community.”
Dr. Youssef Al Ali emphasized the importance of partnerships between research institutions and national entities, noting:
“Joint efforts allow for the scientific utilization and analysis of traffic data to provide strategic recommendations that improve traffic management and support evidence-based decision-making to enhance the efficiency of Dubai’s road network.”
Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali highlighted the importance of applied scientific research as a strategic tool for developing the smart transportation sector and traffic management, stressing Parkin’s commitment to supporting research projects that create pioneering solutions for urban mobility, space management, and the training of national talent in analytical and planning tools, while fostering institutional innovation for sustainable solutions.In a gesture of appreciation, Emirates Scholar Center and Parkin Company exchanged Trophies, expressing mutual recognition of each party’s role in supporting scientific research and developing smart transportation solutions, and reaffirming the importance of national partnerships in promoting innovation and serving the community.
