Emirates Scholar Launches the Emirati Journal of Community and Family Studies.

In alignment with the visionary leadership of the United Arab Emirates, which places family and Community at the heart of stability and development, the Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies, a subsidiary of Emirates Science and Research Foundation, proudly announces the launch of the Emirati Journal of Community and Family Studies. This journal aims to advance specialized scientific research on family and societal issues, highlighting the pivotal role of the Emirati family and community as pillars of social cohesion and sustainable development.
This initiative reflects the center’s commitment to the declaration by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, designated 2025 as the “Year of Community” under the theme “Hand in Hand”. This declaration embodies a forward-looking leadership vision centered on people, prioritizing the well-being of the community, and ensuring the nation’s sustainable prosperity. It aims to deepen partnership and solidarity between leadership and Community while fostering a culture rooted in coexistence, tolerance, and positive collaboration to build a thriving and engaged community.

The journal also aligns with the directives of H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, emphasizing the importance of empowering Emirati families and enhancing their active role in building a cohesive and stable Community. This initiative seeks to bolster the participation of Emirati families in national development through programs that support their financial and social stability, increasing their contributions to societal progress.

H.E. Dr. Abdulla Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council and Chancellor of Emirates Scholar Center, stated:
“The Emirati family is the backbone of our Community, playing a crucial role in preserving national values and as a fundamental driver of sustainability and development. This journal reflects our commitment to producing scientific research that supports the leadership’s vision and enhances family stability, reinforcing social bonds for a cohesive and prosperous Community”.

The journal places significant emphasis on strengthening Emirati national identity through research that highlights the role of family and Community in preserving cultural and social values. Studies featured in the journal will explore ways to promote national belonging, the role of educational and media institutions in fostering positive citizenship, and strategies to enhance social cohesion. Additionally, the journal will be indexed in leading academic databases, including Google Scholar, Cite Scholar, and Crossref, among others, contributing to the global recognition of Emirati scientific research.
Dr. Firas Habbal, President of the Center and Vice-chancellor of the Board of Trustees, emphasized:
“This journal addresses key societal and family issues, focusing on their role in achieving the UAE’s Vision 2071. It will analyze economic, social, and cultural challenges facing Emirati families in the modern era”.

Dr. Fawaz Habbal, Secretary-General of Emirates Scholar Center and Board Member, added:
