H.E. Dr. Abdulla Belhaif Al Nuaimi Hosts a Ramadan Majlis on Scientific Research

H.E. Dr. Abdulla Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies, hosted his Ramadan Majlis, which served as a rich intellectual gathering bringing together a distinguished group of researchers and academics. The discussion focused on the future of scientific research in the UAE and reviewed the country’s remarkable achievements in global indicators, emphasizing that this year represents a pivotal milestone in strengthening the UAE’s global knowledge output.
In his opening remarks, he stated that investing in the human mind and in scientific research is the true guarantee for sustaining the UAE’s competitiveness. He added:
“In the United Arab Emirates, our ambition goes beyond keeping pace with global developments; we strive to create knowledge and share it with the world. Researchers today are the champions of the UAE Centennial 2071 vision. This Ramadan Majlis is an open invitation for researchers to become part of a dynamic scientific movement that will make ‘Made in the UAE’ a hallmark of excellence in global research and innovation”.
The Majlis also featured in-depth discussions on several key pillars that support the UAE’s journey toward knowledge leadership. Participants emphasized that the knowledge economy and knowledge endowments are essential drivers of sustainable development and represent the most effective path toward building a prosperous future powered by productive minds. The discussions also addressed the major challenges facing researchers amid rapid technological advancements and the need to adopt innovative research methodologies that move beyond traditional frameworks to keep pace with modern developments and transform challenges into opportunities for excellence.
Participants noted that all Emirati outputs, whether scientific studies or technological innovations, must meet the highest international standards and be capable of competing effectively and contributing meaningfully to the global scientific landscape. In this context, the importance of strengthening scientific research in the Arabic language was highlighted to enrich it and expand its horizons, while emphasizing the role of knowledge endowments as a cornerstone for sustaining science and knowledge. The discussion also underscored the necessity of close collaboration between academic and research institutions and the private sector.
His Excellency also addressed young researchers during these blessed Ramadan nights, affirming that Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies opens its doors to provide the technical and intellectual support necessary to transform theoretical studies into practical applications that serve both society and the economy.
He concluded by stressing that building the future begins with enlightened minds capable of shaping a clear path toward a brighter and more prosperous future, and that the pursuit of knowledge remains a deeply rooted value aligned with the spirit of giving that characterizes the United Arab Emirates.
