Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media Signs MoU with Emirates Scholar Center to Strengthen Academic, Research and Scientific Cooperation

Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies, aimed at supporting the scientific research and innovation ecosystem and fostering collaboration among local entities and institutions. This initiative aligns with the United Arab Emirates’ strategic direction toward building a knowledge-based economy driven by research and development.
The agreement was signed at the Department’s headquarters in the presence of H.E. Mahmood Khalil Al Hashmi, Director General of the Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media, and Dr. Fawaz Habbal, Director General of Emirates Scholar Center and Member of the Board of Trustees, along with several officials from both parties.
Through this partnership, both sides seek to enhance the country’s research and scientific competitiveness and improve the quality of knowledge outputs through joint projects that support informed decision-making and the development of research content aligned with the Emirate’s priorities in tourism, culture, and media.
The MoU aims to strengthen cooperation in developing specialized studies and research papers, exchanging scientific expertise and research methodologies, and empowering national talents by refining their capabilities in research and innovation. The agreement also includes the organization of training programs and workshops targeting researchers, students, and professionals in both the public and private sectors, to enhance research skills and promote the effective use of modern research technologies.
In this context, H.E. Mahmood Khalil Al Hashmi, Director General of the Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media, stated:
“This partnership reflects the department’s commitment to reinforcing the role of knowledge in advancing the Emirate’s vital sectors, particularly tourism, culture, and media. We believe that cooperation with Emirates Scholar Center will contribute to building national capacities capable of fulfilling Ajman’s aspirations and exploring new horizons in research and innovation, in alignment with Ajman Vision 2030”.
For his part, Dr. Fawaz Habbal affirmed that the MoU represents an important milestone in expanding the scope of scientific collaboration. He noted that the center will work closely with the department to develop joint research initiatives, enhance researchers’ presence on international scientific platforms, and support efforts aimed at fostering an innovation-driven environment and strengthening scientific research and technological development within the Emirate.
Under this agreement, both parties will coordinate efforts in organizing conferences, seminars, and scientific events that highlight research topics of mutual interest and contribute to building a dynamic knowledge-based community in the Emirate of Ajman. The partnership will also focus on strengthening researchers’ engagement with international scientific platforms and advancing knowledge initiatives that elevate the quality of scientific output.
Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media emphasized that this agreement forms part of a broader series of strategic partnerships with public and private sector institutions, aimed at supporting the Emirate’s economic, social, and cultural development and reinforcing Ajman’s position as a hub for knowledge, research, and innovation.
