Emirates Scholar Participates in a Special Meeting at the European Parliament in Brussel

A delegation from the Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies, Subsidiary of Emirates Science and Research Foundation, took part in a special meeting at the European Parliament under the theme “European Democracies at a Crossroads.” This participation underscores the center’s growing role in advancing scientific research and contributing to global discussions on the future of democracy. 

The meeting focused on the evolving landscape of European democracies and their global impact, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation, scientific research, and innovation in addressing political and economic transformations. Amid the increasing challenges facing democracies worldwide, representatives of Emirates Scholar highlighted the urgent need for research-driven solutions to enhance resilience, ensure stability, and drive sustainable progress. 

Speaking at the event, Dr. Firas Habbal, President of Emirates Scholar Center and Vice Chancellor of the Board of Trustees, reaffirmed the center’s pivotal role in providing in-depth research insights on democratic issues, stating: 

“Our participation in this event reflects the UAE’s commitment to supporting scientific research as a key tool for fostering stability and sustainable development. We take pride in representing our nation and our research institution in this global dialogue and strive to contribute effectively by offering knowledge-based solutions to the political and economic challenges facing democracies today.” 

Dr. Fawaz Habbal, Director-General and Board Member of Emirates Scholar Center, further emphasized the center’s dedication to knowledge-based policymaking, stating:
