Emirates Scholar Strengthens Global Research Collaboration through Strategic Partnerships

Chieti, Italy – September 2024: Emirates Scholar Centre for Research and Studies announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Environmental Health Research Organization (EHRO) on the sidelines of the First International Conference on Environmental Medicine held in Chieti, Italy.

This initiative is part of the UAE’s ongoing efforts to support scientific research and expand international cooperation in the field of environmental health, contributing to innovation and the development of scientific solutions to address global health challenges.

This agreement reflects the UAE’s commitment to promoting scientific research as a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development, aiming to develop joint research projects that enhance the scientific understanding of the environmental impacts on public health.

The collaboration between Emirates Scholar and EHRO focuses on exchanging expertise and knowledge among global research institutions, thereby reinforcing the UAE’s role as a leading hub for scientific research and innovation.

In a similar context, the Centre announced a strategic partnership with the European Medical Association (EMA) to promote the 34th European Arab Medical Congress, which will be held in Abu Dhabi on December 11-12, 2024.

This partnership aims to enhance collaboration between European and Arab medical communities, supporting innovation in medical and health research while affirming the UAE’s leadership role in advancing public health services on a global scale.

As part of its efforts to enhance scientific research in the UAE, the Emirates Scholars Centre revealed a new alliance with the Italian Society of Environmental Medicine (SIMA) to implement three pioneering research projects, including early cancer detection, epigenetics studies, and environmental health.

These projects aim to provide innovative preventive solutions to health challenges associated with environmental factors, thereby enhancing the UAE’s position as a global destination for scientific research in the field of environmental medicine.

Commenting on these partnerships, Dr. Firas Habbal, President of Emirates Scholar Centre and Vice Chancellor of the Board of Trustees, stated, “The signing of the MOU with EHRO and the strategic partnerships we announced represent a significant step in supporting scientific research addressing the most pressing health issues.
