H.E Dr. Abdulla Belhaif Al Nuaimi Brings Together Engineering and Medical Experts in a Ramadan Majlis to Discuss Food Security and Professional Engineering Classifications

Sharjah, United Arab Emirates – H.E. Dr. Abdulla Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council and Chancellor of Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies, hosted his Ramadan Majlis with the presence of a distinguished group of experts and specialists to discuss pressing issues in food security and professional engineering classifications. The gathering served as a platform for dialogue and exchange of ideas on the global challenges facing food security, as well as the importance of developing professional classifications for engineers in the UAE and the GCC.
During the discussion, Dr. Al Nuaimi emphasized that food security remains one of the most urgent global challenges, requiring collaborative efforts to implement sustainable strategies. He stated:

In this context, Professor Simon McKirdy, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Murdoch University, Australia, shared international perspectives on available solutions to address food security challenges, shedding light on successful experiences worldwide.

Beyond food security, the Majlis also addressed the issue of professional classifications for engineers, discussing the importance of implementing standardized professional criteria similar to those in some GCC countries. Participants emphasized that the “Professional Engineer” certification is a crucial step toward elevating engineering competency and ensuring high-quality projects.
