H.H Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed launches the Dubai Cultural Grant
With an investment of AED 180 million, H.H Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, launched the “Dubai Cultural Grant” program.
The grant aims to develop Dubai’s culture and arts sector and provide essential support to the emirate’s creative communities. Reflecting H.H Sheikha Latifa’s esteemed leadership in the fields of culture and creativity, the program follows a structured 10-year timeline, with AED 180 million allocated over this period to fund the grants.
It attracts local talents across various creative and cultural industries, including fields such as design, literature, visual, fine, and digital arts, heritage and museums, gaming, performing arts, professional development, public art, and culinary arts. The program’s first phase includes 18 grants in the final two months of 2024, with a total value of AED 12 million.
During an event organized by “Dubai Culture” on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Etihad Museum, many officials and creative talents gathered, led by Ms. Aisha Abdullah Miran, Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai. Also in attendance were representatives from Alserkal Group, Art Dubai Group, Art Jameel, Emirates Literature Foundation, Shetha Easa Kids, Reality, House of Pianos, Dubai National Theatre, Sandooq Al Watan, the International Centre for Culinary Arts in Dubai, several participants from the “Influential Leaders” program at the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development, and experts from Tamakkan Studio.
H.H Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed’s speech, she highlighted Dubai’s success in establishing itself as a global destination for culture and creativity, a hub that unites diverse cultures and nationalities, strengthening its leadership on the world stage.
This achievement, she noted, stems from the vision of H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. She emphasized that the launch of the “Dubai Cultural Grant” reflects the emirate’s forward-thinking approach and reaffirms its commitment to the creative community, with a continuous effort to enhance the cultural and creative industries sector as part of its dynamic creative economy.
