Emirates Scholar Wins Tree of Peace Award in France for Promoting Tolerance

Paris, France – In an achievement that reflects its commitment to spreading the values of coexistence and peace, Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies has been awarded the “Tree of Peace” during its participation in the “Peace Iftar” (Iftar de la Paix) event, organized by the Conference of Imams of France in Paris. This recognition highlights the center’s role in supporting research on tolerance and fostering a culture of coexistence, in addition to the great success of the 2nd International Dialogue of Civilizations & Tolerance Conference.

Honoring Efforts in Promoting Coexistence and Peace

Emirates Scholar Center was honored, and the award was received by Dr. Fawaz Habbal, Director-General of the Center, and Dr. Firas Habbal, President of the Center and Vice-Chancellor of the Board of Trustees, during a ceremony attended by a distinguished group of diplomatic, religious, and intellectual figures, including H.E. Élisabeth Borne, former Prime Minister of France, H.E. Thani Mohamed, Minister of Francophonie in France and H.E. Fahad Saeed Al Raqbani, UAE Ambassador in France. The attendees praised the center’s role in strengthening intercultural dialogue through its pioneering academic research.

Commenting on this recognition, Dr. Firas Habbal, President of the Center and Vice-Chancellor of the Board of Trustees, stated:

The success of the International Dialogue of Civilizations & Tolerance Conference

Receiving the “Tree of Peace” award is a testament to the success of the 2nd International Dialogue of Civilizations & Tolerance Conference, which attracted over 100 global speakers and 3,200 participants from 70 countries. The event featured 20 research papers on tolerance and coexistence, along with 10 cultural and artistic performances that showcased civilizational diversity and cultural openness.

One of the conference’s most notable outcomes was the launch of the “Coexistence Platform”, a research initiative powered by artificial intelligence to enhance understanding of tolerance through verified sources, making it a significant knowledge tool in promoting global coexistence.
