Abstract
This session explores how occupational therapy can enhance student engagement and support inclusive, effective learning environments. Rooted in the framework of Best Practices for Occupational Therapy in Schools (Clark & Chandler, 2019), the presentation covers evidence-guided strategies that span system-level advocacy, population-focused services, and performance-based interventions. Special attention will be given to the role of occupational therapy in addressing the unique needs of students with ASD, highlighting how educational therapy can support autism treatment in school contexts. Attendees will gain practical tools to apply holistic, research-backed approaches that boost participation and learning for all students, particularly people with autism who benefit from structured, supportive engagement strategies.
