Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) and proteinuria are increasingly common health concerns that can progress to end-stage renal failure and cardiovascular complications. Among the chronic kidney disease causes, oxidative stress plays a critical role in kidney damage and inflammation. Recent studies have highlighted the promise of natural remedy approaches, particularly those with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, in managing these conditions.

In collaboration with a research team at Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University in Morocco, supervised by Prof. Lyoussi, our findings support the therapeutic potential of honey and bee propolis, known for their rich content of polyphenols and flavonoids. Honey’s anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties have been shown to offer renoprotective benefits, especially in cases of toxin-induced kidney damage. Notably, bee propolis demonstrated even higher antioxidant activity than honey, and significantly reduced urinary protein excretion while improving kidney function under various toxic conditions.

Furthermore, both substances—used individually or in combination—exhibited notable diuretic activity, which supports their value in proteinuria treatment natural strategies. Additional components such as chrysin and pinocembrin, naturally occurring in honey and propolis, have shown positive effects in diabetic nephropathy models. These findings reinforce the bee propolis Forever Living benefits as well as the broader therapeutic potential of natural remedies in supporting kidney health.

Collectively, this body of evidence suggests that honey and propolis could be promising natural interventions in the management of chronic kidney disease, proteinuria, and even nephrotic syndrome. These preliminary findings pave the way for more extensive clinical trials to evaluate their full potential in human subjects.
